Now available on the Raz-SP (Self-Propel) are user-actuated front directional caster locks that improve stability by preventing the casters from swiveling during transfers. Ready access for the user is accomplished by the addition of rods that extend from seat level to the swivel lock mechanisms.
Although all casters provided by Raz are dual-locking (swivel and roll), for users who do not have the ability to reach the caster locking levers, the User-Actuated Directional Caster Locks provide a means of locking the swivel.
The combination of wheel locks on the rear wheels and swivel locks on the casters provides superior stability during lateral transfers. Because the casters lock in the forward orientation, additional forward stability is provided during activities such as showering.
