The seat of the mobile shower commode chair is essential for comfort, function, safety and minimizing the risk of pressure injury. Because these are important attributes, Raz offers a choice of 15 seats for standard-weight, 18”W shower chairs.
- Molded Contoured Seats – 4 configurations:
- 16”D – front open
- 16”D – front bridged
- 19”D – front open
- 19”D – front bridged
- Visco-Foam Interface Seats – These are Molded seats topped with a 1” layer of proprietary, soft visco-elastic foam. They are upholstered with a durable, 4-way stretch vinyl that provides a seamless interface. Because the standard molded seat is used as the internal structure, the Visco-Foam Interface seats offer a superior combination of contoured support and pressure distribution. They are available in 10 configurations:
o 16”D – front open o 19”D – front open
o 16”D – front bridged o 19”D – front bridged
o 16”D – left open o 19”D – left open
o 16”D – right open o 19”D – right open
o 16”D – rear open o 19”D – rear open
- EJR Seats – This was designed to replicate the Everest&Jennings seat that was popular in the 1980s and 1990s. The Raz version differs in that it is molded and offers a larger support surface, which reduces average sitting pressures.

- Over-sized seats (wider and/or deeper than nominal frame size)
- Soft spots
- Relief areas
- Leg length discrepancies
- Pelvic obliquity accommodation
- Shower only (no aperture)
To ease the anxiety for those involved in the prescription of a custom seat, we can provide a CAD drawing in advance of the order. As well, we offer one free remake should the original custom seat fail to meet the client’s needs.
