To accommodate rapid growth, Raz Design needed to relocate to a larger facility that would allow for more efficient production. After months of designing, planning and building, Raz has moved into its new space at 22 Howden Road, Toronto. Located just 5 minutes east of the old location, the new facility is more than double the size at 20,500 ft² (1900 m²). Building upgrades include roof, exterior cladding, windows, doors, HVAC facility-wide, LED lighting, universal washroom. The new building is completely wheelchair accessible with a kitchen, two meeting rooms and a conference/training/photography room complete with all of the AV equipment required to conduct video conferences and webinars.
From a production standpoint, the larger space and upgraded building amenities will increase production capacity and efficiency. The power upgrade to 600V – 3-phase transformer will accommodate larger blast room equipment, welding equipment, machine shop and a 4’ x 8’ CNC router table which will help improve lead times on custom orders.
On the Herculean task of renovating 22 Howden, Raz Design VP David Harding said, “When we purchased it, the building was in desperate need of a complete overhaul. For the past eight months we have been renovating both the interior and exterior in order to make it into an efficient and inviting environment for our staff.” He continues “Our new facility has everything needed to provide the best products and services to our customers.”
