Raz Design Customer Service Rep Carlo Dela Cruz answers a few of the most commonly asked questions he receives everyday.
Q: What is the difference between a fixed-back and an Adjusta-back?
A: A major misconception about the terms “fixed back” and “Adjusta-Back” is that they have more to do with the armrests than the backrest. The Fixed Back has armrests that are at a fixed height and angle. Armrest locks are optional. The Adjusta-Back has armrests that are adjustable in height and angle. Armrest locks are standard on the Adjusta-Back.
Q: When will our order ship?
A: Shipping works on a case-by-case basis and depends on what products are ordered. If an order has all standard components, it will likely be shipped in 5 business days or fewer. If an order has custom components, it’s more complicated. Custom seats can be shipped within 5 to 10 days. If the order is for a custom frame or structural component, the order usually takes from 3 to 6 weeks.
Q3: What is the best seat you have? Is the PRx Seat better than the Visco Foam Interface Seat?
A: The Visco Foam Interface Seat is the best all-around seat from a pressure and positioning aspect. It has a layer of soft, visco foam on a molded and contoured foam base. The visco foam reduces sitting pressures as it shapes around an individual. The contoured base helps stabilize the pelvis while increasing comfort.
Q4: What is the widest frame size you can build?
A: The widest custom-made chair that we have built to date is a 36” wide Raz-AT600. It was a huge chair with “tons” of reinforcing struts and gussets.
Q5: When is the folding chair coming out?
A: The folding chair is currently in the prototype stage of development. We expect to be in full production by October 2017.
